'Questions need to be answered' over Russell Brand allegations, says senior Tory MP

Caroline Nokes, chair of the women and equalities committee, has said it is likely Channel 4 and the BBC will be called before MPs over allegations around Russell Brand.

He has been accused of rape, sexual assaults and emotional abuse - allegations the comedian has denied.

Discussing the claims, Ms Nokes said: "My committee is currently midway through an inquiry into misogyny in sport, misogyny in the music industry.
