Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder is suing the German parliament in an attempt to reinstate some privileges he was stripped of in May.
The 78-year-old Social Democrat is demanding he be given back a parliamentary office in the lawsuit. A budget committee removed funding for Schröder's office in the Bundestag after widespread criticism of his close ties with Russia. Schröder was German chancellor between 1998 and 2005. He still receives his pension and security detail.
