During a summit in Vostochny, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un told Russian President Vladimir Putin that the Kremlin was fighting a sacred war with the West and that the two countries would together battle with "imperialism."

Via a translator, he also told Putin that he was sure that the Russian army and people would triumph against "evil," and that he was confident Russia would win in what Moscow calls its "special military operation" in Ukraine.

The summit between the leaders of the two countries, which have become increasingly isolated internationally, was held at Vostochny Cosmodrome - a symbol of Russia's ambitions as a space power.
