Russia's President Vladimir Putin has announced the arrival of the first nuclear warheads in Belarus, and said that more would follow.
Speaking at an economic forum in St. Petersburg on Friday, Putin said the move was meant as a deterrent to "those who are thinking of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia." But he remained unclear about his willingness to use them.
And a group of African leaders are set to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg, in an effort to convince him to negotiate peace with Kyiv. But the delegation has had little success on the first stop of their mission to Ukraine. The African leaders met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has ruled out negotiating with Moscow. Russia launched its latest strike on Kyiv as the delegation arrived in Kyiv.
