The public and businesses have reacted to major price rises set to kick in this week.

95% of councils are expected to increase council taxes by the maximum of 5% to pay for struggling front line services and water and sewerage bills will rise 6% across England and Wales pushing the average bill up £27 a year

Add to that, most broadband and mobile phone contracts, TV licence fees and road taxes are all set to jump.
