Four members of the far-right extremist group, The Proud Boys - the men who led a violent attack on the US Capitol, and stormed the Senate on January 6th 2021 to try to overturn Joe Biden's victory for Donald Trump, have been found guilty of seditious conspiracy.
The group's former leader Enriq Tarrio is among those who now faces time for this rare charge which carries a sentence of up to twenty years in prison.
The jury weren’t able to agree on a fifth defendant, a former marine, and will continue deliberating on that and other charges. Despite all the evidence, much of it beamed live around the world, what happened on January 6 is still very much contested in the US.
Newsnight's David Grossman was there on the day of the riot and filmed the Proud Boys as they marched on the capitol. Two years later, he returns to the scene to reflect on the mark it’s left in America’s divided politics.
