Protesters interrupted the Scotiabank Giller Prize ceremony twice on Monday night.

Protesters first jumped on stage early in the literary gala, holding signs that read “Scotiabank Funds Genocide.” Some groups have taken issue with Scotiabank's investment in an Israeli arms firm.

Later, protesters shouted anti-war slogans as winner Sarah Bernstein’s name was announced.

Toronto police said three people, who were between the ages of 23 and 25, used forged documents to gain access to the invite-only event at the Four Seasons Hotel.

All three were escorted out and arrested. Police say they have been charged and are due back in court in January.
