Protecting the oceans from over-exploitation is in focus this week, as
Negotiations for a new Treaty of the High Seas are reaching their final stages.
Delegates from UN member states are meeting in New York.
They are concerned about the impact of unregulated deep-sea mining and factory fishing.
Current regulations only cover a distance of 200 nautical miles from the coast.
Beyond that in international waters, there is little or no governance.
