Princess Kate to make 1st appearance in public since cancer diagnoses: “Wonderful, wonderful news!”

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said on Friday it was "wonderful news" to hear that Princess of Wales, Kate, will make her first public appearance on Saturday since starting cancer treatment.

"I think the whole country will be behind the Princess of Wales for her recovery, and I saw her statement earlier. I thought it was brave. I thought it was honest, and I am sure it will bring an enormous amount of comfort to so many other people who are grappling similar health challenges," Sunak told a press conference on the sidelines of G7 summit.

In a personal written message released on Friday, Kate said she had been "blown away" by the thousands of kind messages from across the globe that followed her cancer announcement in March.

Londoner's and visitors to the British capital on Friday evening were delighted to hear the news.

"I think it's really good, it's a really positive thing. We need some good news right now," said Londoner Charlie, while many other evening commuters wished Kate well.
