Prince Charles paid tribute to his ‘dear papa’ Prince Philip on Saturday, after Buckingham Palace confirmed Friday the senior royal and husband of Queen Elizabeth had died at the age of 99.
“My father, for I suppose the last 70 years, has given the most remarkable devoted service to the Queen, to my family, to the country, and also to the whole of the commonwealth,” Charles said.
The royal also thanked people in England and across the globe for the strong outpouring of support in the wake of Prince Philip’s death.
A funeral will be held for Prince Philip on April 17 at Windsor Castle.
