Prime Time With Ravish Kumar - December 22, 2021: According to reports, people who bought land near the Ram temple site in Ayodhya are closely related to officials probing alleged irregularities in land deals done by a trust. In a report published in the Indian Express, land belonging to Dalits was transferred "illegally" to the Mahesh Yogi-founded Maharshi Ramayan Vidyapeeth Trust (MRVT). An employee of the MVRT, a Dalit, had reportedly bought large parcels of land from people belonging to the Dalit community and "donated" the land to the MVRT. Uttar Pradesh Revenue Code Rules prohibit buying land from Dalit persons by non-Dalit people without clearance from the district magistrate. While the case against the trust was pending, relatives of officials probing the trust had reportedly bought land from MVRT. (Audio in Hindi)
