Prime Time With Ravish Kumar - June 1, 2022: A week after the State of Inequality in India Report by the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister which said that those earning an average of Rs 25,000 per month fall into the top 10 per cent of the total wages earned bracket, India recorded a growth of 8.7 per cent in 2021-22 while GDP in March quarter grew by 4.1 per cent. Ravish Kumar asks who is contributing to India's GDP growth if there is rising unemployment and inflation is making essential items pricey for the common man. Economist Dr. Arun Kumar says that the growth in India is "marginalising growth" with the super-rich becoming richer. (Audio in Hindi)
