Crowds gathered outside the presidential palace in Ankara, with Justice and Development Party (AK Parti) supporters awaiting Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's expected speech.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan has claimed victory over rival Kemal Kilicdaroglu - although the official vote has yet to be announced. Millions cast their votes today in an election that looks set to extend Erdogan's grip on power into a third decade.
