On Friday, Czech police said the gunman who killed 14 people and injured dozens at a university building on Thursday likely got cornered with only a short-range weapon and had then turned the gun on himself.
The police confirmed that they had also opened fire using short-range weapons to avoid injuring anyone still inside the university building and confirmed the attacker had acted alone.
Meanwhile, hundreds paid their respects to the victims, including the Czech PM and President, at the memorial located at the entrance of the University building.
With the city still in shock, one Prague resident, who is also a lecturer at a faculty in town, said, “It is horror; I cannot even speak.”
