Just outside of Halifax, waves are crashing over roads and forcing police to close them to keep people safe on Saturday.
Officials are cleaning up the roads as currents push debris, such as rocks, onto the roads.
Authorities are also urging individuals against coming outdoors to “sight-see” and take pictures, but to stay sheltered indoors instead.
Global’s Vanessa Wright reports from Cow Bay, N.S.
