Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday rejected increase in prices of petroleum products and said that Imran Khan has robbed the poor by hiking the price to highest level in history.

Bilawal Bhutto, in a statement, said that with petrol and dollar at historic high, everyday use items will soon be out of reach of the masses.

PPP Chairman said that Imran Khan, who came into power with promises of cheap petrol, has not only increased the price to historic high but is trying to defend the massive hike.

On the other hand, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said that petroleum prices in Pakistan are still low as compared to other countries in the region.

In a post on social-networking website Twitter, the minister said that if you want to purchase petroleum products from outside, you need to pay more.

It merits mention that government on Wednesday approved an increase of Rs5 per litre in the price of petrol.

According to a notification issued by the Finance Division, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs 5 per litre and new price will be Rs 123.30 while High Speed Diesel price increased by Rs 5.01 and the new price will be Rs 120.04.

The price of Kerosene Oil has been increased by Rs 5.42 per litre with new price Rs 92.26 whereas Light Diesel Oil price increased by Rs 5.92 per litre and its new price will be Rs 90.69.

چیئرمین پاکستان پیپلزپارٹی بلاول بھٹو زرداری نے اپنے بیان میں کہا ہے کہ پیٹرول 5 روپے مزید مہنگا ہوگیا، عمران خان قوم کے اچھے دن کب آئیں گے، ڈالر، پیٹرول تاریخ کی بلند ترین سطح پر ہوںگے تو ہر شے دسترس سے دور ہوتی چلی جائیگی، عمران خان نے کہا تھا کہ میں رلاؤں گا، آج پوری قوم رو رہی ہے۔

بلاول بھٹو کا کہنا تھا کہ عوام رو رہی ہے اور عمران خان چین کی بانسری بجا رہے ہیں، بجٹ کے بعد عوام کو ریلیف پہنچانے کے وہ بڑے بڑے دعوے کہاں گئے ؟ سستا پیٹرول دینے کا جھوٹ بول کر اقتدار میں آنیوالے آج تاریخ کا مہنگا ترین پیٹرول بیچ کر اس کا دفاع بھی کر رہے ہیں، پیٹرولیم مصنوعات کی قیمتوں میں اضافے سے جمع اربوں روپے پی ٹی آئی حکومت کرپشن میں اڑا دے گی۔
