Following the intel, the Indian Army started cordoning off the villages close to Dara Ki Gali in the Surankote area of Poonch district. Post it, search operation was being conducted as well. But at least 5 terrorists opened fire at the troops leading to martyrdom of five Jawans including a JCO.

Col Danvir Singh was on ABP News and he explained why the area was ambush prone. Col Singh told that the area was very close to LoC and hence supply of weapons to terrorists was easy
