Uddhav Thackeray, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, has acted against a senior minister who decamped last night for Surat, along with at least 21 other MLAs - a "G-22". Eknath Shinde is at the centre of the new political crisis; Yashwant Sinha, a former Union Minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government, was today named the joint opposition candidate for President polls. The BJP is yet to announce its pick for the July polls and other top stories.

Asked about the BJP claims of having 134-135 MLAs, Mr Chavan said in an exclusive interview,"There is no dispute about that"
