Police officer says she was raped by her PC ex-husband

A retired female police officer has told Sky News she was raped by her ex-husband - a serving police officer involved in investigating sex abuse cases.

But the individuals who investigated her claims were friends or work colleagues of the accused.

'Sally' said her case would have been handled differently if her ex-husband wasn't a serving police officer at the time.

The claims follow the conviction of David Carrick, a former Met Police officer who raped and abused women during his 20-year career.
