A police corporal in Maryland was hailed a hero after she pushed a student out of the way of an oncoming car. Stationed outside a middle school, the officer was patrolling the road and had signaled a moving car to stop, when a child began to cross the road. The car, however, failed to stop and the officer was hit herself. She was treated in hospital and later released.
