According to polling exclusively for Global News, new Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre has overtaken Justin Trudeau as the preferred candidate for prime minister.
Trudeau’s popularity has waned since first becoming prime minister in 2015 and people are looking for a change, explains Darrell Bricker, CEO of Ipsos Public Affairs. “Their leader has become a drag on the ticket,” he says.
Forty per cent of those polled say affordability and the cost of living are in their top three most important issues.
