On the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Jammu and Kashmir and is addressing gram sabhas across the country. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple development initiatives worth over Rs 20,000 crore.
BACKGROUND:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay a visit to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on April 24 to mark National Panchayati Raj Day. On this occasion, he would address all Gram Sabhas throughout the country and also pay a visit to Palli Panchayat in the Samba district.
The Prime Minister will also launch and lay the groundwork for a number of development initiatives in the Union Territory costing around 20,000 crore rupees. He will dedicate the Banihal Qazigund Road Tunnel, which cost over three thousand one hundred crore rupees to build.
