प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने मणिपुर हिंसा को लेकर कांग्रेस नेता गौरव गोगोई द्वारा अपनी सरकार के खिलाफ लाए गए अविश्वास प्रस्ताव का जवाब दिया। पिछले दो दिनों से संसद में मणिपुर में जातीय झड़पों पर सरकार और विपक्ष के नेताओं द्वारा तीखी चर्चा देखी गई। बुधवार को कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी ने सांसद के रूप में बहाल होने के बाद सदन में अपने पहले भाषण में सरकार पर तीखा हमला बोला और उस पर मणिपुर को दो हिस्सों में "बांटने" का आरोप लगाया। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि पूर्वोत्तर राज्य में भाजपा की राजनीति ने भारत की "हत्या" की है, जिस पर पार्टी के कई सदस्यों ने हंगामा किया।

On Wednesday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, in his first speech in the House since he was restored as an MP, launched a scathing attack on the government, accusing it of "dividing" Manipur into two parts. He alleged that BJP's politics in the northeastern state had "murdered" India, drawing an uproar from several party members.
