The Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations have ended on a high with an unexpected appearance from Her Majesty on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

There were huge cheers from the crowds as the Queen appeared at the end of the People's Pageant through central London in her honour.

There have been celebrations around the country as well with millions of people taking part in lunches and street parties to mark 70 years of the Queen's reign.
