One of the most significant commitments to come out of COP26 was the promise, by Brazil and others, to end deforestation this decade.
About 60% of the Amazon rainforest lies within Brazil's borders, and its destruction has gathered pace since President Jair Bolsonaro took power.
Al Jazeera’s Bernard Smith reports from the Amazon, where significantly under-resourced policing of deforestation means Brazil's new commitment might be hard to realise.
