Ken Allen, the pilot whose plane was eventually landed by one of his passengers earlier this month when he became incapacitated, spoke Thursday about what he remembers from that day and thanked those involved in helping land the aircraft.
Doctors attending the press conference said he had suffered from an aortic dissection. According to the University of Chicago Medical Centre, an aortic dissection can be fatal to approximately 40 per cent of those who suffer from it.
Robert Morgan, the air traffic controller who helped a passenger land the plane, spoke about that day and the emotion he felt both in reuniting with the pilot as well as what he felt during the event. He stressed he was just doing his job and wanted a positive outcome.
