The retail price of petrol today touched Rs 100 in Madhya Pradesh after fuel rates were hiked for 10 consecutive days; the Maharashtra Congress today took an aggressive stand against celebrities who had once been critical of the Central government over fuel prices but are now perceived to be mute as the rates shot up higher than ever before. The state party chief has threatened to stop the screening and shooting of movies involving stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar if they didn't speak up like before; concern is growing in Maharashtra over a possible third wave of coronavirus as the state reported over 4,700 Covid cases in 24 hours with over 700 in Mumbai. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray held a review meet and fresh restrictions were announced in certain parts of the state; and other stories.
