The Perseid meteor shower sent streaks of light and shooting stars across skies over the Balkans on Sunday, to the delight of stargazers.

"It is really impressive to see, especially because the Milky Way is now visible together with the stars", said Mario Cuvelic, a visitor from the Croatian city of Split.
