Saturday on PBS News Weekend, we look at the increasingly controversial practice of unpaid internships and what they mean for young people starting their careers. Then, Mali’s former minister of foreign affairs discusses the rise of coups in West African nations. Plus, an innovative Colorado art exhibit sparks collaborations between artists and farmers.

Corrections: This episode stated that people with internship experience received more job offers and higher starting salaries than those who had not. In fact, paid interns received more job offers and higher starting salaries than unpaid interns.

This episode stated that six West African nations have gone through coups in the last three years, and four of them are former French colonies. In fact, one of the nations, Sudan, is not in West Africa, and five nations were French colonies: Mali, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Niger and Chad. We regret the errors.
