Partygate: Sue Gray report soon to be released

Senior civil servant Sue Gray will soon publish her findings from a report into a series of parties in Downing Street and Whitehall that took place when COVID restrictions were in place.

The previous report was published on 31 January as an “update,” after the Met police asked that only “minimal reference” be made under investigation. This ultimately limited her in what she could and couldn’t say; Ms Gray said it was: “Not possible at present to provide a meaningful report” at the time.

Several Conservative MPs have withheld judgement of the Prime Minister on the basis that the report had not yet been finished. But with Ms Gray soon to release her findings, there will be much focus on whether more call for the PM’s resignation.
