People trying to get out of Gaza via the Rafah border crossing with Egypt are being forced to pay thousands of dollars to a network of so-called brokers for exit permits.
That’s according to reports published by Le Monde in France.
Some Palestinians describe the practice as state-sponsored corruption and are pointing to Israel and Egypt, which control the crossing.
