Calls are growing for more immediate aid for flood-ravaged Pakistan, where unrelenting rain has washed entire communities.

The scale of the flooding is hard to comprehend, affecting a third of Pakistan's land and some 33 million people. More than a thousand have lost their lives, while hundreds of thousands of people have fled their homes, scrambling to save possessions.
