Over 125 firefighters respond after East London residential tower set ablaze

Fifteen fire engines and more than 125 fire fighters were called out to a residential tower block in east London on Wednesday, according to a spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade.

Social media footage showed grey smoke billowing out of the building where fire fighters were working on the 17th floor.

The Fire Brigade said they received a call at 12:49 pm local time and the situation was under control by 3:07 pm.

According to local media, no injuries were reported and a successful evacuation of residents was completed. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
