It was nowhere near the scale of the earthquake that shook Turkey and Syria on Monday, but some Ontarians' nerves were left slightly rattled when an earthquake that hit near the Buffalo, N.Y. region was felt north of the border.
Damage was minimal, but this was the strongest quake to hit the area in about 40 years, with Earthquakes Canada recording it at a magnitude 4.2 quake, while the U.S. Geological Survey recorded it as a magnitude 3.8. Residents of Niagara Falls were left wondering what was causing the noise that morning.
As Sean O'Shea reports, the timing also left some people's confidence shook, given the news that happened on the other side of the globe.
