In a class action lawsuit against the Ford government, members are speaking out against the cancellation of Ontario's Universal Basic Income (UBI) Pilot program.
As per a court order following class action certification last month, the Ontario government has agreed to pay $320,000 in legal fees for a class action lawsuit seeking $200 million in damages over the early termination of a basic income pilot project.
The 4,000 members argue the government's cancellation of the program was a breach of contract.
Global's Jaden Lee-Lincoln reports.
