There's very little to like and nothing at all to admire about 'Neddy' Smith, yet the man who was once Australia's most dangerous criminal was once something of a celebrity. From his prison cell, 'Neddy' Smith gave such detailed information on police involvement in crime that a special inquiry was launched in Sydney. The main matter before it: Smith's allegation that for 15 years a gang of senior detectives and other police helped him commit armed robberies, payroll jobs and jewellery heists.
