'Ofsted has been a force for good for our education system' - Former head

Former Chief Inspector for Schools in England and Head of Ofsted Sir Michael Wilshaw says, "We have to remember how bad things were before Ofsted" and standards were "incredibly low."

Meanwhile, the National Association of Head Teachers asked for inspections to be halted and a "fundamental reform" of the current inspection system, after the suicide of headteacher Ruth Perry in January as she waited for an Ofsted assessment.
