Police in New York City held a press conference on Thursday after the arrest of a 44-year-old man, David Bonola, who was charged with the brutal killing of a woman.

The body of New York resident Orsolya Gaal was found inside a duffel bag on a street corner in Queens, early Saturday morning, with a trail of blood stretching back to the victim’s nearby home.

Gruesome details about Gaal’s murder were released including that the victim had been stabbed 58 times in the neck, torso, arm and hand.

The suspect worked as a handyman in the home and the two had been involved in an off-and-on intimate relationship at the time of the killing.

Bonola faces multiple charges including second-degree murder. Gaal, 51, was a married mother of two sons, aged 13 and 17.
