NYC NFT: Dreamverse festival brings digital art to life

NFT.NYC is showcasing more than 500 speakers ranging from Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian to filmmaker, Quentin Tarantino at a series of in-person festivals in New York this week.

In midtown Manhattan is the Dreamverse NFT (Non-Fungible Token) Festival, featuring the work of more than 150 NFT artists, as curated by 10 NFT artists, TIME and crypto-exclusive fund, Metapurse.

Among the artists who are having their work featured include Jose N. Silva, who credits the pandemic for the rise of digital art and the rise of the NFT community.

"Everyone was at home... we didn't have a lot of in-person interaction... I think that's kind of like what catapulted this whole idea of the Metaverse, because a lot of people were meeting up, you know, daily on online forums," he said. "For all of that to culminate into an in-person thing where people can actually see the art... is a big moment in the space."
