The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) — a joint organization between the U.S. and Canada responsible for tracking everything flying in and around the two countries — has one more mission this year: to track Santa Claus as he delivers presents to children around the world on Christmas Eve.

Now in its 68th year, the Santa Tracker has become a global phenomenon with people around the globe eagerly awaiting its launch each year.

Global’s Jaden Lee-Lincoln speaks with NORAD Major General Allan M. Pepin about the technology involved in tracking Santa Claus on Christmas Eve, the route he’ll be taking, and when the expect the man in red to enter North America.
