Nick Thomas-Symonds, Labour's shadow international trade secretary, says it's "no surprise" Lord Geidt quit as the Government's ethics chief, given Boris Johnson's "appalling conduct".

Lord Geidt gave no formal reason for why he resigned, but said it was the "right thing" to do.

The Prime Minister was fined in April for breaking lockdown rules after attending a surprise birthday party in his honour - he refused to stand down.
