87 million Nigerians are heading to the polls today to elect their next president, after a highly contested campaign dominated by unemployment, growing insecurity and a fuel shortage crisis.

It's the sixth election since the end of military rule in 1999 and the traditional two-horse race in Nigerian politics is being disrupted by a third candidate - Peter Obi. Obi is a businessman turned politician who is galvanising young voters.
On a recent trip to London, he sat down with our foreign affairs correspondent.
