In Nigeria, there has been a constant conflict between farmers rearing cattle and others who grow crops.
Politicians in some areas say the open-grazing of animals needs large amounts of water and land, so it is unsustainable.
But one solution has managed to reduce violence between farmers, and there is hope the project can be replicated.
Al Jazeera's Ahmed Idris reports from Sokoto, Nigeria.
