Authorities in Nigeria's biggest state Lagos relaxed on Saturday a round-the-clock curfew as they attempted to restore order after days of unrest.
The violence broke out in the wake of the shooting of anti-police brutality protesters by security forces.
Life in Lagos appeared to be gradually going back to normal on Saturday, with a curfew in place only from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. local time.
Street cleaners removed debris caused by days of violence from major roads and traffic returned to normal.
Violence in Nigeria's sprawling commercial hub, a city of 20 million, escalated on Tuesday night, when a round-the-clock curfew was announced.
Amnesty International said soldiers and police killed at least 12 protesters on Tuesday in Lekki and Alausa, two Lagos districts.
On Thursday, Amnesty, Human Rights Watch and 40 other groups demanded an immediate and thorough investigation of the incident.
