Northern Ireland's main political parties say they "stand united as one voice in condemnation" over the shooting of a police officer in Omagh.

It came as police confirmed the attack on Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell was terrorist-related and the main line of inquiry is the New IRA.

He was shot multiple times in Omagh on Wednesday night in front of his young son and remains critically ill.
