NHS leaders making contingency plans as biggest walkout in history looms

Ambulance staff and nurses are both set to go on strike on 6 February - taking industrial action on the same day for the first time ever.

Matthew Taylor, chief executive of the NHS Confederation, said: "Health leaders will now be intensifying plans and preparations for the combined strike of nurses and ambulance workers in February"
