Israel has called up some 360,000 reservists and is massing troops and tanks along the border with Gaza. The Palestinian territory is under a "total seige" facing near-constant bombardment. Israel says a senior Hamas military commander — whom it claims led the terrorist attacks a week ago — has been killed in the airstrikes. Israel is believed to be planning a major ground offensive, although no such decision has been announced.
