Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is to delay controversial plans to reform Israel's judiciary after protests and strikes threatened to paralyse Israeli society.

Mr Netanyahu said that he would take "time out" to find a solution but hit out at what he called an "extremist minority" ready to divide the country.
