Nearly half of Canadians struggle to tell fact from fiction online: StatCan

Nearly half of Canadians, about 43 per cent, say they are finding it more difficult to tell the difference between what's true or false online, compared to just three years ago.

The data comes from a new release by Statistics Canada which found almost two-thirds — 59 per cent — said they are very or extremely concerned by misinformation online.

As Sean Previl reports, experts who study the spread of misinformation say there's way Canadians can combat it including knowing how to properly fact-check.
