Nearly 900 arrests have been made in Sri Lanka so far and the country faces its last day of petrol, the country’s new prime minister has warned.

Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has warned that the next couple of months “will be the most difficult ones of our lives.”

Sri Lanka is facings its worst economic crisis since 1948, which has been blamed on a combination of COVID, rising oil prices and populist tax cuts.
